KRS API for Polish company and ownership research

What the official source provides

Poland's Krajowy Rejestr Sądowy is the official National Court Register for companies and other registered entities. The public Wyszukiwarka KRS is primarily a search destination: users can find an entity and obtain information corresponding to a current or full extract.

The Polish Ministry of Justice also publishes an open KRS API. Its scope corresponds to current and full KRS extracts, subject to the source's data and privacy rules.

Searching the official portal is useful for an individual lookup. An agent workflow becomes more valuable when the task spans a longlist, requires repeatable evidence handling or combines Polish records with German Handelsregister evidence and other jurisdictions.

Agent workflow

1. Start with an exact KRS number, NIP, REGON or legal name when available.
2. Resolve the entity and verify that name, legal form and identifiers match the target.
3. Retrieve the relevant current or full extract.
4. List document evidence when the assignment needs filings or historical support.
5. Parse readable material only through the returned document reference.
6. Record unavailable financial documents or source restrictions separately.
7. Let the calling agent compose the final ownership or diligence narrative.

For a repeated target list, apply this sequence within the M&A target-screening workflow rather than treating a KRS search result as a complete diligence record.

Coverage and limitations

• KRS visibility depends on entity type, the official record and the selected extract.
• Not every document in the wider KRS/RAR/RDF ecosystem is freely retrievable or parseable.
• Financial-document paths may be blocked or unavailable.
• Disclosed partners or shareholders are not automatically equivalent to ultimate beneficial owners.
• A full extract can support historical analysis, but the agent must distinguish deleted entries from current facts.
